Our No Arc proposal harnesses the power of architecture to communicate the urgent and critical threats we face today, particularly the dangers of global warming. We firmly believe that solutions to these challenges can only be reached through collective action. The design of No Arc represents multiplicity and bottom-up engagement, embodying the idea that no single entity or individual can tackle these issues alone.

The pavilion’s taffrail, formed by many individual slats, guides visitors to the top deck, offering a serene view of London’s skyline. This space serves as an opportunity for quiet reflection, perhaps on rising water levels and the impact of climate change, or simply as a moment to take in a sunset over the city.

Far from promoting fear or doom merchandising, No Arc invites visitors to engage within the public realm in a meaningful way. The pavilion’s interior is designed as a gathering space, encouraging conversation and the exchange of ideas aimed at challenging the current norms and authorities.

At the heart of the pavilion stands the monolithic mast, a symbol of revolution and change. It serves as a catalyst for action, externalizing the internal challenges we face today. Despite the serious message behind the design, No Arc encourages engagement with good humour and playfulness, making the experience both thought-provoking and accessible.
