MIMStudios reconfigured the ground floor of this five-bedroom semi-detached home in Wanstead to better suit the needs of a young family. A new opening between the kitchen and dining room enhances spatial flow, while a redesigned 22.5 sqm kitchen acts as the heart of the home.
A continuous ribbon—formed by vertical-ribbed ceramic tiles and a slim oak shelf—wraps around the space, aligning at points with garden views and drawing nature into the interior. Soft, muted cabinetry and a terracotta-toned storage wall create a calm, textured backdrop.

The kitchen peninsula partially bridges the new opening, encouraging interaction between rooms while maintaining the kitchen’s sense of enclosure. The family bathroom upstairs was also refurbished, continuing the project’s focus on balanced, functional design.
